Christopher J. Franki, CPCU, ARM

Mr. Franki is President, Director, and Principal Consultant of Insurance Buyers’ Council, Inc.

He obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from Loyola University in Baltimore. Upon graduation, he entered the insurance industry. Mr. Franki was employed by Hartford Insurance Group. After completing a structured on-the-job training program, he was assigned to the Baltimore Regional Office as a Commercial Package Underwriter. Responsibilities at Hartford included the evaluation, pricing and placement of property and liability accounts.

Since joining IBC in 1987, his services have included risk management audits, formal advisory reports for management, insurance policy analysis, contractual liability analysis, design and supervision of insurance programs, preparation and supervision of competitive proposal procedures, OCIP evaluation, implementation and monitoring and self insurance/group purchase feasibility studies. Comments and recommendations are made with client's present and anticipated insurance needs in mind. Mr. Franki works with public, non-profit and corporate clients with a focus in the real estate and construction areas.

Mr. Franki obtained the designations of Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).  In addition, he is a member and past president of the Society of Risk Management Consultants, was elected to the Board of Directors in 2013, and serves on the Finance Committee.  In addition, Chris is active in the Insurance Roundtable of Baltimore and is the Past Chair. Recently, Mr. Franki presented at a Mortgage Bankers Association Insurance Conclave. The topic was insurance requirements and wording in loan documents regarding builders risk and course of construction activity and exposures.
