Mr. Kelly is a Principal Consultant, Shareholder, and member of the Board of Directors for Insurance Buyers Council, Inc., an independent risk management and insurance consulting firm headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.
He holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from the University of Baltimore, a Master of Arts from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and a Bachelor of Arts from Denison University. Mr. Kelly also holds the designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Associate in Risk Management (ARM).
Mr. Kelly services a diverse portfolio of clients throughout the country with a variety of property and liability exposures, including but not limited to, sports and entertainment, video production and broadcasting, supply chain and distribution, commercial real estate, residential real estate, wastewater treatment, construction, data center development and operation, condominium associations, and hospitality/restaurants. Mr. Kelly provides continuous advisory services on behalf of private and public-sector clients, including but not limited to insurance policy analysis, contract review, development and maintenance of appropriate underwriting information, review of renewal proposals, invoice and endorsement review, coordination of competitive insurance request for proposals (RFP) projects, and preparation of insurance coverage specifications. Mr. Kelly holds a license in Maryland and Virginia as an Insurance Adviser.
Mr. Kelly is an active member of the Society of Risk Management Consultants (SRMC). Mr. Kelly is a member of the SRMC Board of Directors and the Chair of the Membership Committee.
Prior to IBC, Mr. Kelly spent over five (5) years as an attorney with Goldberg & Banks, P.C., where his practice focused on commercial/construction litigation. Mr. Kelly’s law practice involved various insurance related issues, including but not limited to insurance coverage disputes, pursuit of open claims, indemnification disputes, insurance liability defense, duty to defend obligations, contract review of insurance requirements, and premium audits.
Mr. Kelly is a lifelong resident of Baltimore, Maryland, where he lives with his wife Anna and two daughters, Avery and Charlotte. Mr. Kelly spends his free time watching his daughters participate in various sports, attending concerts, walking his dog, skiing, and barbequing.
