Chris Anderson is a Shareholder and Senior Consultant with Insurance Buyers’ Council, Inc., where he has been serving clients since 2018. He specializes in insurance program analysis, underwriting, and contract review, with particular expertise in group self-insurance pooling for governmental entities and educational organizations.
Chris began his career in risk management in 2017 with a national senior living organization. During that time, he led the analysis of a workers’ compensation fraud prevention and workplace safety initiative that was successfully implemented across 18 senior living communities nationwide.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Risk Management and Finance from the University of South Carolina and holds the prestigious Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation along with an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation.
As the lead consultant for governmental and educational clients, Chris provides strategic oversight for group self-insurance pools. His responsibilities include underwriting prospective members, reviewing pool coverage documents and reinsurance policies, evaluating rate structures, assessing surplus adequacy, and guiding insurance renewal negotiations with brokers and carriers. He regularly presents to boards of directors and client leadership teams, offering insights on program performance, updates on the insurance marketplace, and coverage review. Beyond his public sector work, Chris advises real estate clients on insurance policy renewals and answers coverage questions, performs policy analyses for high-net-worth individuals, and assists commercial organizations in evaluating and strengthening their insurance programs.
